About the Journal

The International Journal of Disaster Studies and Climate Resilience (IJDSCR) (Online ISSN:3107-605X) is a 'Multidisciplinary Subjects' open-access, online-only, no-APC (IJDSCR does not charge article processing charges, submission fees, editorial processing charges, page charges, colour charges, publication fees, or withdrawal charges. Publication is free for authors and access is free for readers). It publishes peer-reviewed English-language scholarly original research papers in disaster and climate-resilience scholarship connecting Global South evidence with internationally transferable policy, practice and methodological innovation. IJDSCR publishes two issues annually, covering January–June and July–December. It follows a continuous publication model: articles are added to the open issue immediately after peer review, acceptance, copyediting and production. 

It is published by Resilience Press, ND-9, T.C.9/315, 'Anakkathil', Jawahar Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram 695 003, India. DOI is assigned by Crossref. Launched in 2025, IJDSCR provides a scholarly forum for cutting-edge, interdisciplinary work that advances understanding and practice at the intersection of disaster risk reduction, emergency management, and climate-change resilience across the natural, technical and social sciences, including migration, resilience and (dis)empowerment etc.  The journal website and its contents are OAI-PMH compliant. The journal encourages authors to deposit versions of their paper (pre-print, galley proof, final published version) in institutional repositories or any other repository of their choice (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia etc.).

IJDSCR metadata is discoverable through Crossref, OpenAlex and ROAD.

Also all papers published in IJDSCR are indexed in Research Commons database of Web of Science, and are thus discoverable in Web of Science Research Commons.

Digital Preservation and Archiving
The International Journal of Disaster Studies and Climate Resilience (IJDSCR) participates in the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN), a distributed digital preservation network based on LOCKSS technology. Published journal content is regularly deposited in the PKP PN to ensure its long-term preservation and continued availability in the event that the journal or publisher website becomes unavailable. The journal's preservation status is independently recorded through the Keepers Registry associated with the ISSN International Centre.

A note on 'Citation Pollution': Authors must ensure that each paper they cite exists. Any DOI included in the references must resolve to the paper and match the cited title, authors, year and journal. Use of LLMs for drafting, literature survey, or reference generation must be disclosed at submission. Manuscripts with several fictitious LLM-generated references or fabricated DOIs or wrongly pointing DOIs will be rejected on research-integrity grounds. This note appears in the home page because of the additional time, effort that is often wasted by 1. the authors themselves, 2. the editors, 3. the reviewers, and finally 4. the whole universe of knowledge (if these polluted citations slip into print) in trying to determine citation integrity.

We’re pleased to share an important milestone: the International Journal of Disaster Studies and Climate Resilience (IJDSCR) is now featured in PreventionWeb—UNDRR’s global knowledge-sharing platform for disaster risk reduction and resilience. This recognition strengthens IJDSCR’s international visibility and supports our mission of advancing open, interdisciplinary scholarship on disaster risk reduction and climate resilience. In addition, IJDSCR articles with a direct application to disaster management will be archived and made accessible via PreventionWeb—with our first IJDSCR publication already available there. Each such paper is also archived in the Prevention Web, managed by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).
